Mangalam Coalfield is seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer for the Amlabad Colliery (BCCL MDO Project). The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and safe operation of all mechanical machinery in the underground mine and surface infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machinery Maintenance: Oversee the preventative and breakdown maintenance of underground mining machinery, including Winders, Haulages, SDL/LHDs, Main Mechanical Ventilators (MMV), and heavy-duty pumps.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to DGMS guidelines, The Mines Act 1952, and Central Electricity Authority (CEA) regulations regarding mechanical installations.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct daily and weekly statutory inspections of ropes, gears, pulleys, and suspension gears to prevent accidents.
- Team Leadership: Supervise mechanical foremen, fitters, and technicians to ensure minimum downtime and high availability of equipment.
- Documentation: Maintain statutory registers, logbooks, and maintenance records for DGMS audits.
Requirements:
- Education: B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
- Certification: Valid Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (Mechanical) for Coal Mines is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in an underground coal mine environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Winder operations, Dewatering systems, and Flameproof (FLP) enclosures.
