Mangalam Coalfield is appointing a statutory Safety Officer to lead the Safety Department at Amlabad Colliery. You will act as the “Internal Auditor” for safety, reporting directly to the Agent/Manager, and ensuring the mine operates within the framework of the Safety Management Plan (SMP) and DGMS guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Compliance: Enforce the provisions of The Mines Act, 1952, and Coal Mines Regulations, 2017 regarding safety.
- Inspections & Audits: Conduct daily safety inspections of underground districts, traveling roads, and surface installations. Lead the Safety Committee meetings.
- Accident Investigation: Investigate all minor and major accidents/incidents, analyze root causes, and submit statutory inquiries (Form IV-A/B, etc.).
- Safety Management Plan (SMP): Maintain and update the mine’s SMP, conduct risk assessments for new machinery, and ensure SOPs are followed.
- Training Oversight: Coordinate with the Vocational Training (VT) center to ensure all workers receive proper initial and refresher training.
Requirements:
- Qualification: B.Tech or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
- Statutory Certificate: Valid First Class or Second Class Manager’s Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of mining experience, with at least 2 years specifically in a Safety department.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of DGMS circulars, rescue rules, and gas monitoring protocols.
