Mangalam Coalfield is hiring experienced Mining Overmen for the Amlabad Colliery project. You will be responsible for the safety, discipline, and production of your assigned district/section during the shift, acting as the primary statutory supervisor underground.
Key Responsibilities:
- District Supervision: Manage the assigned district to ensure strict compliance with the Coal Mines Regulations (CMR) 2017.
- Safety Enforcement: Inspect the roof and sides, ensure proper support (timpering/bolting) is installed before work begins, and maintain haulage roadways.
- Gas & Ventilation: Regularly test for inflammable and noxious gases using methanometers/detectors and ensure proper ventilation in the working face.
- Production Targets: Organize manpower to achieve shift production targets without compromising safety.
- Reporting: Maintain the Overman’s statutory handbook/diary and report any unsafe conditions to the Assistant Manager.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Diploma in Mining Engineering.
- Statutory Certificate: Valid Overman’s Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS is mandatory.
- Additional Certifications: Valid Gas Testing Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience in underground coal mining. Experience in depillaring districts is an advantage.
